Georgia toll roads and express lanes

Georgia is not a toll-mandatory state.[1] Instead, the Georgia Express Lanes are optional toll lanes that run parallel to existing interstates in some of metro Atlanta's most congested areas. These lanes offer the option to pay a toll to bypass traffic and enjoy more predictable travel times during busy periods. All Georgia Express Lanes have dynamic pricing to ensure reliable trips, even during peak hours.[2] Currently there are 4 Express Lanes with Peach Pass in Georgia.

  • I-75 South Metro Express Lanes
  • I-85 Express Lanes
  • I-75/I-575 corridor
  • I-85 Extension

What is Peach Pass to Pay Toll in Georgia ?

Georgia's electronic toll system, Peach Pass, facilitates travel on high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) lanes and express lanes along interstates I-75, I-85, and I-575 within the Atlanta metropolitan area. These are all electronic and do not accept cash payments. Also, a video toll system doesn’t exist in Georgia.

What to do if a toll is missed in Georgia?

Failing to pay the required toll on a toll road is a breach of O.C.G.A. § 32-10-64 (c)(1). When this occurs, the registered vehicle owner must promptly pay the State Road and Tollway Authority (SRTA) the owed toll and an additional $25 administrative fee per violation to offset collection costs.
