Do I Need BreezeBy for Oregon? 2026 Update

No - but you'll save 50-58% per crossing with BreezeBy. Oregon has only two toll bridges, both crossing the Columbia River between Oregon and Washington. Hood River Bridge moved to automatic license-plate billing at the toll booth on April 1, 2025 - but this did not eliminate cash entirely: the Port of Hood River confirms cash or check can still be paid at the Port office during business hours, or via a 24/7 dropbox outside the office. The Bridge of the Gods still accepts cash directly at the toll booth.

2026 Update: Oregon's I-205 and I-5 urban tolling projects remain indefinitely postponed following Governor Kotek's March 2024 decision. The 2025 legislative session did not revive them. How to Pay Oregon Tolls

1. BreezeBy Electronic System (Recommended):

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use E-ZPass in Oregon?

No. Oregon uses its own BreezeBy system at both bridges. E-ZPass and other out-of-state transponders are not accepted. Washington state's Good To Go! tag is also not accepted at these bridges.

Is the Hood River Bridge really cashless now?

Not entirely. The toll booth itself no longer accepts cash - it bills by license plate automatically. But you can still pay in cash or by check at the Port of Hood River office during business hours, or drop payment in the 24/7 dropbox outside the office. "Cashless at the booth" and "no cash option at all" are different things here.

What happened to the I-205 toll project?
