Do I Need a Vignette for Bulgaria? 2026 Update
Yes, if you are driving a vehicle up to 3.5 t on any Bulgarian motorway (A road) or first-, second- or third-class state road (I, II or III road), you must display a valid e-vignette. Bulgaria replaced physical windshield stickers with an electronic plate-linked system in 2019, so there is no physical vignette to stick anywhere.

Do I need a vignette on secondary roads (II and III class)?
Yes. The vignette requirement covers motorways and first-, second- and third-class (I, II and III) state roads. Roads outside the national road network, such as municipal streets, are not covered.
Is the weekend vignette valid for longer than Friday to Monday?
No. The weekend vignette is valid from Friday 12:00 noon to Sunday 23:59 only, and does not extend to Monday. If you buy it after Friday 12:00, it starts at the time of purchase and still ends on Sunday 23:59. If you plan to drive on weekdays, purchase a 7-day vignette instead.
Do I need a separate vignette for a trailer?
Yes, if the combined weight of the car and trailer is over 3.5 t. A separate trailer e-vignette is sold on BGTOLL; it is registered to the trailer's plate and must cover the same validity period as the towing vehicle.
