How to pay Golden Gate Bridge Toll Charges
The Golden Gate Bridge toll plaza is electronic; accepts no cash any more. For frequent commuters, FasTrak is the preferred method of toll payment on the Golden Gate Bridge because it offers the most discount. There are other three ways to pay toll here:
1. License Plate Account

3. Toll Invoice
These methods are preferred by occasional travellers.

Most rental car companies offer their own tolling program, which may be the most convenient way to pay your Golden Gate Bridge toll.
If you opt out of it, you can do a One-Time Payment[3] or open a License Plate Account[4]. Those with a valid FasTrak can use the transponder in the rental car by changing the linked license plate temporarily (with that of the rental car’s).
Golden Gate Carpool Tolls
Carpools and vehicles with CAV decals in California avail the toll discount on the Golden Gate Bridge [5]. They must use toll lane #2 at the west (right) side and have a FasTrak Flex activated to signal carpooling.

- Motorcycles
- Buses
